48in48 Thanks Delta Air Lines for Recent Growth and Impact

At 48in48 we are hard at work preparing for our October events in Atlanta and New York, and our inaugural London event, taking place in November. At each of these events, we will build websites and provide digital marketing services for 48 nonprofits.  We are thankful for our incredible partners and sponsors who have helped us grow over the years to expand our reach from the original event in Atlanta.

Like many great ideas, we had humble beginnings. 48in48 started with a simple question.

How can digital professionals support nonprofits using their professional skills?

Our founders, Jeff Hilimire of Dragon Army and Adam Walker of Sideways8, took the question to their professional networks. They had so much interest by colleagues and peers that the first 48in48 took off in Atlanta. Nonprofits were thrilled with the new resources that 48in48 provided because many could neither afford a website nor digital marketing services without 48in48.

After the buzz in Atlanta, our founders had new questions for our sponsor, Delta Air Lines.

How can we make an even more significant impact? How can we build even more websites for nonprofits?

Delta Air Lines answered by expanding 48in48 beyond Atlanta to five more cities in the U.S. and our first event in London. Delta is our Presenting Sponsor for 48in48 because they share our belief in helping the helpers. Their support has helped the organization to build websites for more than 600 nonprofits since 2015.

“Nonprofits are doing good, and now 48in48 is making them look good. At Delta Air Lines, we love supporting 48in48. It’s a perfect intersection for the tech community to come together to build websites for nonprofits. So it’s a great place for Delta Air Lines. We encourage others to get involved as well,” said Tad Hutcheson, Delta’s Managing Director of Community Engagement and 48in48 Atlanta Judge.

Delta has been a continual source of support. In addition to a continued sponsorship, the company has provided teams and judges for the annual Atlanta event since 2015. They provided judges for the NYC event since its inception in 2016, and they offered judges in Minneapolis and Boston in 2017.

We plan to continue to grow with a goal of supporting 48 nonprofits in 48 different cities in a single year. 48in48 is a platform for digital professionals to join a community of social entrepreneurship, for nonprofits to receive free websites and digital marketing services, and for sponsors to help many deserving nonprofits in one weekend.

From all of us at 48in48, we want to give a big thank you to all of the passionate social entrepreneurs at Delta Air Lines. Your support has turned simple questions into a reality where digital professionals can use their skills to help the helpers and extend the reach of nonprofits across the world.
