Action Cycling Atlanta

Using Friendship, Respect, and Sportsmanship to Increase Awareness and Raise Funds for HIV/AIDS
The team behind Action Cycling Atlanta is a group of individuals from diverse backgrounds - young, old, gay and straight - who share some common interests:
  • a love of physical activity
  • a desire to build the community
  • a passion to create a better world
This enthusiastic and committed team challenge and support one another to achieve exceptional in fitness, personal growth, and philanthropy. What great themes for us all this summer! In their case, ACA produces sporting events to increase awareness of HIV/AIDS, raises funds for eradication research and supports service organizations that reduce transmission, educate the public and improve the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS. ACA’s mission is achieved using friendship, respect and sportsmanship to inspire our community toward a world where HIV/AIDS is part of history. Since participating in a 48in48 event last year, ACA received positive comments about the new website design and its ability to help participants, volunteers and sponsors stay more engaged in advance of their main events. When asked if his organization had learned more about how digital marketing and technology can aid in their mission, President Jonathan Kerron said, “I think our organization has a better digital footprint and platform to tell our story as a result of the partnership. We are very thankful for 48in48, and I've recommended other non-profits apply.” ACA has raised over $3 million in their 17-year history for their beneficiaries - the Emory Vaccine Center and Atlanta area AIDS service organizations. If you’re interested in getting involved with Action Cycling Atlanta and contributing to their mission in the fight against HIV/AIDS, The AV200 bike ride, a 2-day, 200-mile ride is in late May 2020, and their Field Day event (think adult playground games - tug of war, 3-legged race) is likely in April 2020. They'd love 48in48 affiliated organizations to participate!
